2013 the year gone by, let’s herald the New Year 2014.

2013 is the year in India a great one.
In Delhi elections, Aam Aadmi Party has trounced the ruling party and has secured a reasonable majority.
Mr. Arvind Kejriwal is forming the Government there in Delhi.

This would be the forerunner for bigger things to come in India in the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.
The traditional parties have to sit back and analyze what went wrong in Delhi.
The people of Delhi have voted for a change and the mood is upbeat.

Can AAP be a strong contender for the Lok Sabha Elections in 2014?
If so, then there is a good chance for the AAP party to win and form the Government in the national stage.
In the history of our country, this would be the first time the people would have expressed their choice based on the performance of a party which promises of a corruption free environment.

Are we going to see this happening, we need to wait and watch?
The big national players would be definitely pulling up their socks and would be apprehensive about their performance in the Lok Sabha elections.

We have heard of David and Goliath story, it’s happening here in India.

Can we really see this happening, if it has to happen, then the common folks- aam aadmi would be really powerful and a true democracy would emerge in our country?

Let’s herald the New Year 2014 with a vow to make India a corruption free country.

Could this be the new order in our country?

Making India corruption free.

Bringing in good people to power in politics is a first step in eradicating corruption.
If politicians are indulging in corruption, then all people in government organisations follow without any fear.
A first step is already taken in Delhi in India, by electing Aam Aadmi Party which means Common folks party, which has broken the backs of mighty parties like the two big parties in India.
Isn’t this a good beginning, if this happens nationwide in India then we can at least work towards a corruption free country.
What we can do is vote and elect the AAP candidates and bring in good educated people in the polity in India, thereby improving the system and the government officials would deter from practicing corrupt methods.
But wait, we ought to understand that the common folks of our country ought to also exercise a restraint on giving in to corruption and bring corrupt officials to book.

Good luck to India, a change is already happening, atlast an IIT grad Mr Arvind Kejrival has shown the guts to lead a party of common folks.
Let’s encourage him and the nation would definitely improve. Jai hind.

It’s never too late to fight it out in life.

One has heard stories of people fighting against all odds in life.
Life is precious and it should not be wasted.
Whatever may be the problems, they are not insurmountable .
If one observes that life is not at all easy for all of us.
Everybody is struggling and makings two ends meet.
It’s our duty to find meaning in life.
When you fail in life then we ought to tell ourselves that we did not fail, but our success is postponed.
Remember there is an opportunity to do our work better today than yesterday.
One should not focus on problems, but focus on solutions.
There is an old saying that ‘’ If one wants to walk quick, then walk alone, and if one wants to walk far then walk together.

A person who is negative thinks that Half filled glass is half empty whereas a positive person feels the same glass is half full.

When Sleaze and Greed takes over the game……

Recent IPL 6 has seen the incidence of Sleaze and greed taking over the game.

The game of cricket is now tainted and there is no charm left for its true sportsman spirit.
Lakhs of people in India watch IPL and they are disillusioned about these happenings.

Already there is lot of money in this T 20 games and it attracts world class players from all over the world.
The concept of IPL is great.
It gives a chance to young cricketers in India to seek an opportunity to play first class cricket for the country.
These games are similar to the famous world class Foot ball leagues in Europe and give a great opportunity to showcase the talents of our youngsters.
It was thought that to get a chance in Indian team was tough and almost impossible to get a place for players from smaller towns.
But IPL broke this myth and we saw a rise in talent from small cities.

The three players arrested so far are: Shreesanth, Ankeet Chavan, and Ajit Chandalia.
These players already get huge sums for playing in IPL.
Shreesanth is also the Indian Team player; there is no dearth of money.

What prompted these guys to stoop so low and fall in the snare of bookies?
These guys have indulged not only in match fixing but also have indulged in sleaze.
The lure of women, wine and money is well known but cricketers who already earn huge sums are getting trapped in such game is not understood.

They are the idols of millions of fans and by their act they have sabotaged the faith of millions.
Where is the cricket game heading?
The icing on the cake is the arrest of Chennai Super Kings owner Mr. Gurunath, who is now disowned by the team owners.
The next news  is that of Mr Raj Kundra who is the Rajastan Royals owner.
He claims he is into only betting but not fixing matches.

As the players and bookies and team owners are now arrested, it remains to be seen what is the extent of money involved in this, and how many more players and other personalities are involved in this muck.

We hope the authorities once for all seek the truth and punish the guilty.

Innovators are born.

Innovators are not necessarily educated.
One often wonders what makes an Innovator?
Is it formal education or training or sheer genius skills of the person concerned?
If you see the array of successful business men they are all not MBA’s but they had to struggle their way forward.
Take Steve Jobs who pioneered a host of innovations in Apple and was a highly successful business entrepreneur and he was a college dropout.
Take Bill Gates another successful business man and he too was a college dropout.
Take Marck Zuckerberg of Face Book, though he went to college but did not finish and he is the innovator of Face book.

I happened to read about David Karp, he has not finished school, is a school dropout.
This is an interesting story and that too of a successful guy who mastered the HTML script on his own.
He is the owner inventor of Tumblr.
He is just 26 years old now.

At the age of 14 years he gave up school and started working for an Apple service outlet,
He was working for Fred Siebert who found MTV Nickledom & Comedy Central.
In 2005 he found the Tumblrblog.
This contained links to other blogs and sites of photography.
He made this site very user friendly, developed tools for the users to do things on this site.
It did not do well.

In 2007 it attracted some venture funds and got its funding to propel intensive growth in this venture.
In 2010 the system crashed and he had to use Twitter to stay in touch with its customers.
He has revamped the business in 2010, by closing down story board its in-house content business.

Tumblr has today over 300 million users and gives opportunities to its users in variety of subjects, like blogs, photography etc,
This company has attracted many big players and now it is sold to Yahoo for 1.1 billion usd.

If one analyses the growth of this company since it started in 2005 the transformation is fantastic, and David has demonstrated that one needs skills and business acumen but you need not acquire these skills from business school.

Modern Banking : Advantages and perils.

As technology is advancing day by day, the need to visit the bank personally has reduced considerably.
ATM's are available for cash withdrawal, and cheque deposits.

Cheques would get phased out soon as net transfers are in vogue and customers can transfer through net banking.
Even international funds can now be transferred thro net banking in India.

Hence the foot falls in the banks would reduce day by day.

However in developing countries like India, though technology is catching up with customers, the literacy rate is not high enough.
Hence people would continue going to banks for their needs.

Though money withdrawal to a large extent is now through ATM's.
The customers even if they are not literate enough, tend to use this facility as the ATM's have local language option so it becomes easy.
The literate customers tend to use net and mobile phones banking a lot and can avail of technology easily.
This would be just about 35 to 40%.

All the advancements are fine, but what is disturbing is that the accounts in banks are getting hacked and the money is transferred illegally without the knowledge of customers.
We have had instances of these kinds in India and it is scary that as technology is advancing, the hackers are busy hacking the accounts of innocent customers.

The Banks need to safeguard the money of their customers and it is a challenge that firewalls and security be strengthened to prevent hackers intruding.

Some of the banks have started three levels of security for internet banking.
They are: 1. Internet Password. 2. Fund transfer password. 3. ATM Card Grid nos verification.
It is good to see that such safety is being introduced by some banks.

Unless the internet hacking is prevented with good security, the customers would always live in fear of being robbed.
It is a modern robbery compared to olden days where the thieves had to physically enter a bank to rob.
Hope we get a better system soon in the world.

2013 Hoping for the best for India.

2012 the year past, and Welcome the New Year 2013.

India had many interesting things in the year 2012.
We thought that in 2012 the Lok Pal Bill would be introduced but then it did not happen.

The movement of Anna Hazare is now fizzled out; their members have now formed the Aam Aadmi Party.
Anna had feared that their movement should not become a political outfit and he being a simpleton and a true patriot did not want his movement getting into politics.
But Kejriwal and others in his movement were impatient and there has been a divide amongst them, and a new party is now born without Anna.

It needs to be seen whether this party Aam Aadmi Party also goes the same way as the other mainstream parties where all sorts of people get into the band wagon and the nation’s interest takes a backstage.

The next thing to happen in India is the Rape in Delhi.
A girl was brutally raped by 5 people in a moving bus and her friend was assaulted and the girl was also injured by their assault so badly that normal folks like us would get goose pimples reading the gory details of this sorry incident. The girl subsequently died in a Singapore Hospital where she was taken for a treatment.
This incident united our country into fighting against rape culture prevalent in our country.

It is sad that here in our country where Women are treated like Goddess – Durga, Laxmi, Saraswati etc and we see such horrific acts happening with impunity.

The movement in our country was unanimous and it propelled the law makers into thinking and I believe the Government & the Judiciary is indeed thinking of Fast Track courts and severe punishment to the accused.
If at all Anna movement was spontaneous then the movement against Rape was equally spontaneous.

It shows a matured democracy where the normal folks are concerned about the health of the country.

Sad that the Politicians did not react good enough just like in Anna’s case, and the people were left wondering whether changes would come to our country.

The entire world was aghast at such happening in our country.

With this lone incident in 2012 was marked for the upheaval against rape and we hope that 2013 would be a better year for this great country.

Here is Wishing India All the Best for 2013.
